Sexual dysfunction
What is your sexual complaint?
Erectile dysfunction occurs when you are unable to achieve and/or maintain an erection. There are several causes for erectile dysfunction: physical or psychological causes and a combination of these.
Physical causes include diabetes (diabetes), cardiovascular disease, nervous disorders, hormonal problems, chronic diseases and side effects of medications. For psychological causes you can think of depression, stress, (failure) anxiety or relationship problems.
Premature or rapid climax occurs when, without much sexual stimulation, uncontrolled ejaculation occurs before the person wants it. Causes are not directly identifiable.
Role of pelvic floor
The pelvic floor muscle improves blood flow and prevents blood discharge. Therefore, training of the pelvic floor muscle is aimed at long-term active functioning.
Ejaculation occurs through reflex stimulation of the penis. It is a two-stage process. First, in the ejection phase, seminal fluid accumulates in the prostate. This is followed by the ejection phase. The neck of the urethra closes, preventing urine from reaching the sperm. Then the muscles of the penis root and of the urethra contract, forcing the semen out.
Treatment
Erectile dysfunction is highly treatable. However, when determining the appropriate treatment method, it is important to consider your lifestyle. If you have a partner, it is helpful to find out if and how treatment will affect the relationship between you.
Treatment may include:
✓ Counseling and sex therapy.
✓ Erection pills
✓ Injection therapy
✓ Vacuum pump
✓ Erectile prosthesis
✓ Pelvic floor muscle training
Many men find it difficult to talk about their erectile dysfunction. On average, a man even waits two years before consulting a doctor. This is very unfortunate, because there is more and more that can be done about it. And your doctor can help you with that like no other.
With premature ejaculation, relaxation techniques and distraction methods are used. For relaxation, the Pelvictrainer® with basic training can provide excellent support. Here breathing is combined with tightening and relaxing of the abdomen and pelvic floor. This leads to calmness in the nervous system, reducing the stimulus to ejaculate.
Using the Pelvictrainer®
The Pelvictrainer® registers externally the degree of activity in your pelvic floor muscle and shows this in the form of a signal on a screen (bio feedback). You sit on the chair with your clothes on.
Use the Pelvictrainer for erection problems
For erection problems, the pelvic floor muscle needs to be strong and coordinated again. For this you can choose the basic training and the advanced training with speed.

Relaxation training for premature ejaculation
Premature ejaculation requires relaxation/relaxation training combined with a breathing exercise. To do this, select Basic training and set each phase to 4 seconds. At the relaxation phase (eccentric phase) you exhale, and at the concentric phase you inhale.

What can I do?
If you are interested in non-internal pelvic exercise with biofeedback, ask your fitness practitioner or (pelvic) physical therapist for use of the Pelvictrainer®.
